Rakopotamos is among the most popular canyoning sections of Mt. Kissavos, visited by thousands of alternative activity passionists, all year around. All canyoning sections of the mountain are addressed to visitors with all levels of experience The canyon is located in Mavrovouni forest and due to its length is divided into two sections, Rako I and Rako II. Both sections can be crossed by the most experienced ones within approx. 9.00 hours and the option of overnight camp is available to the less experienced.
Marvelous limestone formations, impressive waterfalls, as well as swimming and jumping in large deep pools, are enjoyed on every section of the canyon. The impressive contrast of the greenery against the white limestone turns visiting this spot into a unique experience. The most recommended period to visit this spot is from late February to mid October.
