Aggitis river springs from Falakro mountain in the regional unit of Drama, a city and municipality in northeastern Greece. Although, its the main element in the hydrographic network of the lowlands of Drama, most of it lies within the boundaries of Serres prefecture, near the town Prosotsani. It starts at the Maara springs, crosses the western side of the low-lands and having collected its waters at Philippi pours into the Strymon river.

The Maara springs at an altitude of 123m are the outlet of an underground river which crosses the Maara cave. It is a 15 km route which is divided into two levels of difficulty, a) 1.30 hours advanced with many variations and b) mild, without much difficulty, ideal for beginners and children over 10 years.


Rafting - Kayaking requires specific equipment and techniques that must be adapted to the natural environment.
