Anthony Quinn beach is a small natural port, located on the eastern coast of Rhodes island, in Greece. It is approximately 200m long and it features sand, pebbles and deep emerald coloured waters. Its outstanding natural surrounding were featured in the epic film ”The Guns of Navarone” and the spot was named after the famous leading actor’s name, who also owns a large property in the area. It is located relatively close to Rhodes town (approx. 15km southeast) and very close to the lively Faliraki resort (approx. 3km).
Although it is a small beach, the diving opportunities, in this spot, are plenty. There are caves, like the ”Cave of the Seal” and a great variety of marine life, such as tropical fish, octopus and eels, that are waiting to be explored. The average depth ranges from 10m to 30m and the water temperature is usually between 23-29°C.
Scuba diving requires specific equipment and techniques that must be adapted to the natural environment. For this reason it is strongly advised that you check regularly our ‘Schools / Clubs’ section, in order to get in contact with nearby qualified instructors, that will introduce you safely to this unique activity.
